“Pump”
-is Aerosmith's tenth studio album, released on September 12, 1989.
The album brought the band a number of successes and “firsts”, including the first Grammy Award (“Janie's Got a Gun”) and “Love in an Elevator” was the first Aerosmith song to reach #1 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.
It is also the only Aerosmith album to date to have three top 10 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 and three #1 singles on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.
The album was the fourth best-selling album of 1990.
The RIAA awards certifications based on the number of units (sales + streaming equivalents) achieved. Since the inception of the program in 1958, the criteria have evolved, particularly with the inclusion of streaming data in 2016. The current levels are:

1,000,000 units sold or equivalent.

Dave Donnelly is a renowned mastering engineer who has worked with Aerosmith on several notable projects.
He owns and operates DNA Mastering Studio in Los Angeles, where he has provided mastering services for a variety of artists.
In his work with Aerosmith, Donnelly has contributed to the mastering of several albums and compilations, including:
“O, Yeah! Ultimate Aerosmith Hits” (2002): A Comprehensive Greatest Hits Collection Spanning the Band's Entire Career.
“The Essential Aerosmith” (2011): A three-part compilation featuring a selection of the band's most influential tracks.
“Greatest Hits + Live Collection” (2023): A Japanese release combining studio hits and live performances, showcasing the band's versatility.
Donnelly also acted as mastering supervisor for the Aerosmith albums “Pump” (1989) and “Get a Grip” (1993), both of which are central works in the band's discography.
With his expertise, Dave Donnelly has contributed significantly to the sound quality of Aerosmith releases, ensuring that the band's music is presented clearly and impressively to listeners around the world.
