Master of Reality

- is Black Sabbath's third studio album, released in 1971. Today, it is often regarded as one of the foundations of doom and stoner metal.

On this album, Tony Iommi lowered the tuning of his guitar by several semitones – a sound trick that gave the whole thing a heavier, more oppressive atmosphere and became a defining feature of the style.

The classics “Sweet Leaf,” “Children of the Grave,” “Solitude,” “Into the Void,” and the instrumental “Orchid” form a multifaceted spectrum ranging from dense darkness to delicate nuances.

SFX-7400 is the Japanese pressing with the Swirl Vertigo label – one of the most sought-after variants among collectors.

This variant features the so-called Lower Vertigo / Swirl label (“swirl label”) – a circular, rotating label design that was used on many early Vertigo pressings.

This variant was only available in a limited edition and is one of the rarest pressings of Master of Reality.

The original editions often included a large poster fold-out (6 squares, foldable to LP size). Well-preserved copies are very rare, as they were usually hung on the wall and damaged at the corners or...
