La mayoría de las pistas de Riff Raff son originales de Lynne, Edmunds y el miembro de la banda John David. La portada más notable es la mencionada "Something About You", originalmente un éxito top-20 para los Four Tops en 1965. Edmunds también versionó "Steel Claw", escrita por Paul Brady, que fue grabada originalmente, con un arreglo de hard rock más apretado y frenético, por Tina Turner para su esfuerzo de regreso multi-platino, "Private Dancer", lanzado solo cuatro meses antes.
