“Go to Heaven” (25RS-96)

-is the eleventh studio album by the American cult band Grateful Dead and was released on April 28, 1980.

It is a transitional album that lies between the psychedelic-experimental roots of the 60s and the straight Americana rock of the 80s - musically often underestimated, visually a toned-down cover was designed for the Japanese version.

At the same time, it was the debut of keyboardist Brent Mydland, who would significantly shape the band's sound until his death in 1990.

“Go to Heaven” is a quiet, elegant chapter in the Grateful Dead's history - often overlooked, but rich with great songs, emotional depth and a new chapter in the band's dynamic. It shows a more mature, focused band still searching for spiritual depth, musical openness and emotional authenticity.
