Mike Thrasher, nativo de Birmingham, AL, partió para Los Ángeles a principios de los años 90, y se unió a John Boutin (baterista) y Matt Westfield (bajo) para formar Gwenmars en 1995. El trío formó su propio rock alternativo de guitarra.
