It tells the absurd, humorous story of divorce proceedings (Walter Stapleton vs. Lulu) in the law office of the alcoholic Mr Haig, interrupted by the eccentric composer Mr Blint, who lives under the hall floor

The theme of a climatic-cosmic catastrophe - nature versus man - hovers over everything.

It is a theatre piece with music, played entirely by Peter Cook (all roles) and sung by Sarah Vaughan (duets with Godley)

‘Consequences’ is a wild, ambitious studio DIY work of art - an idiosyncratic mixture of avant-pop, radio play, experimental music and technical showcase.

It divides its listeners into admirers and detractors, but remains a fascinating example of artistic audacity.

Those who embrace the concept will find a mature, multi-layered experience - and understand why Steven Wilson and some cult fans are rediscovering it.
