Several concerts in Ireland (including Dublin and Belfast).

Portions were also recorded in Aberdeen, Scotland.

The title "Hanx!" is an ironic Northern Irish dialect "thank you!"

The band originally intended to release a live album only for the US market to gain exposure there. Thanks to the enthusiasm of fans, it was subsequently released regularly in the UK.

Classic second-wave punk rock/post-punk: raw, political, and rousing.

The album captures SLF's live energy very well: powerful guitars, Jake Burns' piercing vocals, the collective sing-along factor.

Many songs have direct references to the Troubles in Northern Ireland, which lends the recordings a special intensity.
