A collector’s gem from the roots of British folk‑rock:

Up for auction is a rare Japanese promotional pressing of Strawbs, the debut studio album by the British band Strawbs, pressed in Japan in February 1975 under catalogue number AML‑234.

This unique promo edition, made exclusively for promotional purposes by A&M / King Records, was never made commercially available and is highly sought after by collectors of late‑60s/early‑70s folk‑rock and Japanese vinyl editions.

Originally released in the UK in May 1969, Strawbs captured the band's early folk‑rock sound, featuring Dave Cousins, Tony Hooper, and guest Rick Wakeman. By 1975, when the Japanese promo pressing appeared, the Strawbs had evolved with more progressive arrangements and greater international attention.
