First edition from 1950. Red cloth boards with blind stamped, gilt illustration vignette (ballerina) to front board; gilt lettering to spine strip. . - dated 1951. Colour illustrated (photo) frontispiece. Comprises: foreword by Sacheverell Sitwell; preface by Baron; a number of chapters; epilogue; index; illustrations. First chapter is entitled 'The Ballet Scene To-Day'. Illustrated throughout - mainly black and white photos but some colour plates too. 222 pages plus plates. Text is clean. Binding is quite tight. Board edges soiled/ discoloured.
