En esta primera parte de la serie conocemos a María Wilson y Domi, dos niños que, sin saberlo, están destinados a encontrarse. Su primer contacto ocurre de manera inesperada en la montaña Cruz Montigalá, en Badalona, un lugar que marcará el rumbo de sus vidas. María llega a España tras sobrevivir a un accidente en el Lago Ness que casi le cuesta la vida. Desde aquel día, señales inquietantes y sucesos inexplicables parecen acompañarla, como si algo la siguiera desde las profundidades del lago. Domi, por su parte, vive en un orfanato propiedad de la abuela de María. Su vida transcurre entre rutinas y juegos hasta que un encuentro extraordinario lo cambia todo: un niño misterioso, vestido con ropas antiguas, aparece cantando una vieja canción entre ruinas enigmáticas. Ese instante será el inicio de una cadena de misterios y conexiones ocultas que unirán a ambos protagonistas a lo largo de la serie. Como en *La promesa*, este volumen incluye al final poemas y breves reflexiones sobre las imágenes del interior, presentados en español, Scots, gaélico escocés e inglés.

In this first part of the series, we meet María Wilson and Domi, two children whose lives begin to intertwine long before they understand their connection. Their first encounter takes place unexpectedly in the hills of Cruz Montigalá, a setting that becomes central to their destinies. María arrives in Spain after surviving a near‑fatal accident in Loch Ness, an event that leaves her marked by strange signs and unsettling sensations that seem to follow her. Domi, living in an orphanage owned by María’s grandmother, experiences a turning point when he meets a mysterious child dressed in old‑fashioned clothes, singing an ancient song among enigmatic ruins. This moment opens the path to a series of secrets, omens and hidden links that will shape the saga. As in *La promesa*, the volume concludes with poems and brief reflections on the interior images, presented in Spanish, Scots, Scottish Gaelic and English.
