Your partner deployed. This afternoon the bank refused your power of attorney. Important bills are due tomorrow, and the one person who could help is six thousand miles away and out of reach.
That can be the moment you feel most alone.
With the Financial 9 Line, you find that gap before deployment, while the two of you can still close it.
Recalled to active duty with one working day?s notice, his wife pregnant, Gene Redding handed her a binder of the household?s accounts, policies, and phone numbers: too big, too detailed, and too dependent on the one who deployed. A year later, in Iraq, he called a medevac for wounded Marines and could not get the 9-Line out until the dispatcher walked him through it, one line at a time. Across decades as a financial advisor, interrupted twice by wars, he learned what a family can actually use when there is no time to read a hundred pages. So he used the medevac 9-Line format to build one for the household: nine Lines, one document, in a set order.
The Financial 9 Line holds the vital few facts a household runs on: the accounts and who can get into them, what comes in and what goes out, the health coverage and the life insurance, who to call, and what to finish before departure. You build it together, Line by Line, from information your household already owns. The gaps show up while you build it. And when something goes wrong during the deployment, you spend your time solving the problem instead of hunting for the facts.
Build it together, and your family goes into the deployment more ready than before.
