The Menace Rises is Book Two in the Two Moons series.. (Book One - The Eternal Tide)
Deor and Sam escaped the clutches of Emperor Barritus and the Titan military once, but now tensions have escalated. The patrollers scour the Mid Territory in search of them, and their hometown of Apin is under increased Guard surveillance. Nowhere is safe for them now.
Emperor Barritus faces growing resistance across Alcyone. Frustrated with his inability to recapture those who betrayed him, he turns to military force to make his point-with devastating effects in one of the territories.
Meanwhile, a plan is hatching in Apin to rid the town-once and for all-of the patroller presence. Their militia has grown in number and the flames of rebellion are beginning to spread.
While the rebellion brews in Apin, a dangerous mission is taking shape deep inside Merope. As Emperor Barritus builds the largest naval fleet the world has ever seen, two allies set their sights on Titus in a desperate attempt to stop the empire before it can spread even further.
As the shadow of the Meropan Empire spreads across the world, can the people of Alcyone fight back, or will Barritus extinguish their way of life?
