To Wander Alone - a novel set in Granada, Andalucia and southern England.
Should Richard go to Spain to search for his son? Can Katy survive alone in London? Will Victor discover meaning to a life thrown into confusion?
Over a period of four seasons, we follow these characters in the labyrinth of Granada´s metropolis, through the wild foothills of the Sierra Nevada and to the Wellhouse hospital which struggles to accommodate a woman on the edge of madness.
On the way, you´ll meet Leonardo and Fiona, who run the Newman School of English, recovered alcoholic Mitch, wayward Estrella and the one-armed Plácido. Lets not forget, John and Emily, two patients at the Wellhouse, or Bouba Sarr who saves Victors life on a farm but later suffers a tragic accident.
Giles Powell´s debut novel is engaging and tersely written, with many deft splashes of local colour (being mainly set in Granada, Spain). It certainly kept me turning the pages. Chris, Granada, Spain.
It is a really touching story and I was hooked from the beginning. Becky, Granada, Spain.
It was such an entertaining and interesting read. Anna, Worcester, UK.
