Osiris, el dios egipcio que fue asesinado y resucitó

El dios más importante del panteón egipcio fue asesinado y desmembrado por su celoso hermano Set. Su amante esposa Isis logró recuperar los fragmentos de su cuerpo, lo devolvió a la vida y concibió con él a su hijo Horus.

Osiris es el señor egipcio del Inframundo y el Juez de los Muertos, hermano y esposo de Isis y uno de los dioses más importantes del antiguo Egipto. "Osiris" es la forma latinizada de su nombre egipcio, Usir, que se interpreta como "poderoso" o "fuerte".

Fue el primero de los hijos de Geb (la tierra) y Nut (el cielo) poco después de la creación del mundo, fue asesinado por su hermano menor, Set, y fue devuelto a la vida por su hermana y esposa, Isis. Este mito, y los dioses que participan en él, se convirtió en un elemento central de la cultura y la vida religiosa egipcias. En un principio, Osiris era un dios de la fertilidad, posiblemente de Siria, aunque esta afirmación se debate, que se hizo tan popular que acabó por absorber las funciones de otros dioses anteriores como Andjeti y Khentiamenti, dos dioses de la fertilidad y la agricultura adorados en Abidos. Se lo asocia con el símbolo dyed y a menudo se lo representa con la piel negra o verde, que simboliza el barro fértil del Nilo y la regeneración. A menudo también se lo representa como una momia o parcialmente momificado, en su posición como Juez de los Muertos.

The most important god of the Egyptian pantheon was murdered and dismembered by his jealous brother Set. His loving wife Isis managed to recover the fragments of his body, brought him back to life and conceived her son Horus with him.

Osiris is the Egyptian lord of the Underworld and the Judge of the Dead, brother and husband of Isis and one of the most important gods of ancient Egypt. "Osiris" is the Latinized form of his Egyptian name, Usir, which is interpreted as "powerful" or "strong".

He was the first of the sons of Geb (the earth) and Nut (the sky) shortly after the creation of the world, was killed by his younger brother, Set, and was brought back to life by his sister and wife, Isis. This myth, and the gods involved in it, became central to Egyptian culture and religious life. Originally, Osiris was a fertility god, possibly from Syria, although this claim is debated, who became so popular that he eventually absorbed the functions of other, earlier gods such as Andjeti and Khentiamenti, two fertility and agricultural gods worshipped at Abydos. He is associated with the symbol dyed and is often depicted with black or green skin, symbolising the fertile mud of the Nile and regeneration. He is also often depicted as a mummy or partially mummified, in his position as Judge of the Dead.
