Founder and owner of the Verrerie d'Art Degué company in Paris (1926-1939), David GUERON signs his productions with the DEGUE label; he began by creating the Cristalleries de Compiègne in the early 1920s. In some of his works, such as this vase, David Guéron distinguished himself by a beautiful audacity in the use of colors. A great rivalry existed between the great master glassmakers of the time; Charles Schneider (Le Verre français) accused David Guéron of copying his creations and the dispute was brought to court. It was the Second World War which put an end to the Degué Art Glassworks, David Guéron leaving France in 1939. (Cf website leblogantiquites.com)
