Curioso y poco común pimentero de bambú y bronce, fabricado en Asia o Europa entre el siglo XIX y principios del XX. De gran tamaño, esta pieza presenta un cuerpo esbelto tallado con incisiones sencillas y cenefas tribales. En la parte superior, una mano de bronce sostiene un aro. Funciona por giro completo: el cuerpo se sujeta y se gira, la parte superior, para accionar el mecanismo de molienda, lo que sugiere un diseño de muelas internas. La parte inferior suele tener una abertura ajustable para determinar el grosor de la molienda.

Por sus características y mecanismo, parece ser un pimentero, aunque su diseño es poco común y no se puede asegurar con certeza su función original. Interesante objeto de colección.

Bamboo and bronze pepper shaker, pp. 20th century

A curious and unusual bamboo and bronze pepper shaker, made in Asia or Europe between the 19th and early 20th centuries. Large in size, this piece has a slender body carved with simple incisions and tribal borders. At the top, a bronze hand holds a ring. It works by full rotation: the body is held and turned, the upper part, to activate the grinding mechanism, suggesting an internal millstone design. The lower part usually has an adjustable opening to determine the thickness of the grind.

Due to its characteristics and mechanism, it seems to be a pepper shaker, although its design is unusual and its original function cannot be assured with certainty. Interesting collector's item.
