One of pop music's most romantic ballads, Peaches and Herb's "Reunited" was included on the duo's 1978 Polydor album 2 Hot. Some were skeptical about the possible success of the track since it was the follow-up to their disco-oriented million seller "Shake Your Groove Thing." Co-written by producer Freddie Perren and Dino Fekaris, it joined the roster of "must do" wedding songs that includes such titles as Luther Vandross' "Here and Now" and Marilyn McCoo & Billy Davis Jr.'s "Just the Two of Us." The songwriters had both worked at Motown, and "Reunited" evokes some of the charm of the ballad duets of Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell. The sentiment of "Reunited" certainly touched Peaches Greene who cried when she first heard the song. Like 2 Hot, Peaches and Herb's "Reunited" sold over two million copies and parked at the top of both the R&B and pop charts for four weeks in spring 1979.
