CBS editó el recopilatorio All of this and nothingook (88), saliendo seguidamente el álbum Book of days (89). En 1990 colocaron en las listas el single House y en 1991 el single Until she comes, apareciendo en ese mismo año a la venta el álbum World outside. La banda se separó en 1991 y los hermanos Butler formaron el grupo Love Spit Love. Se volvieron a juntar nuevamente en el 2000 y en el 2001 su compañía lanzó al mercado un recopilatorio con el título de Beautiful chaos: Greatest hits live. The Psychedelic Furs siguen en activo haciendo giras y su última formación era la integrada por los hermanos Butler, Rich Good (17-6-74, Crawley, West Sussex, guitarra), Mars Williams (28-5-55, Elmhurts, Illinois, Estados Unidos, saxo), Amanda Kramer (teclados) y Paul Garisto (batería).

Book of Days is the sixth studio album by the English rock band The Psychedelic Furs, released in 1989. It reached number 74 on the UK Albums Chart and number 138 on the US Billboard 200.

Singles released from the album include "Should God Forget" and "House". They peaked at number eight and number one, respectively, on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart. "House" also reached number 90 in the UK Singles Chart.
