Descripción:

- Bonito azulejo valenciano con decoración de la Rosa de los Vientos.

- El azulejo está realizado en terracota, pintada a mano y esmaltada. Después cocido uniformemente, lo que le da al esmalte una considerable dureza.

- Predominan los colores verdes y amarillos.

- La decoración representa la Rosa de los Vientos.

- La Rosa de los Vientos es un símbolo en forma de círculo que tiene marcado alrededor los rumbos en que se divide la circunferencia del horizonte, y que serían este, oeste, norte y sur. Su invención se atribuye al español Ramón Llul.

- En las cartas de navegación se representan por 32 rombos unidos por un extremo, mientras que el otro señala el rumbo sobre el círculo del horizonte. Sobre el todo se sitúa la flor de Lis con la que se suele representar el norte. Este símbolo se documenta a partir del S. XV.

- Pensamos que podría ser valenciano por su estilo.

- No se ha localizado ningún distintivo, marca o contraste, que pueda facilitar datos del sitio en que se fabricó, datos del fabricante, así como otros datos.

Conservación y desperfectos:

- El azulejo se encuentra en bastante buen estado de conservación.

- Presenta desperfectos, como pequeños golpes y roces por los extremos. En algunas zonas se ha levantado el esmalte.

- El Objeto presenta el desgaste propio de su tiempo.

Comentarios:

- Tanto las Medidas, como el Peso, son aproximados.

- Muy interesante como pieza de colección y como elemento decorativo.

- Los tonos de los colores de las fotos no son iguales a los tonos de los colores reales.

Description:

- Beautiful Valencian tile with decoration of the Rose of the Winds.

- The tile is made of terracotta, hand painted and glazed. It is then evenly fired, which gives the glaze considerable hardness.

- The colours green and yellow predominate.

- The decoration depicts the Wind Rose.

- The compass-rose is a symbol in the form of a circle with the east, west, north, north and south directions of the circumference of the horizon marked around it. Its invention is attributed to the Spaniard Ramón Llul.

- On navigational charts, they are represented by 32 rhombuses joined at one end, while the other end marks the course on the circle of the horizon. Above the whole is the fleur-de-lis, which is often used to represent north. This symbol is documented from the 15th century onwards.
