Extraordinario jarrón con tapa para jengibre en porcelana china, pintado a mano, realizado en el reinado del Emperador Tongzhi (1862-1875), de tipo Familia Rosa. Familia Rosa es el nombre que se le dio en Europa a determinado tipo de porcelana china, que a partir del siglo XVIII incluyó los esmaltes de este color a la paleta anterior de verdes, amarillos, rojos y azules. Actualmente, las piezas de porcelana de la Familia Rosa están muy cotizadas por su belleza y su fina decoración. Presenta certificado de autenticidad expedido por La Union Trading Co. de Hong Kong: “Se realizó una investigación y se descubrió que se fabricaron hace más de cien años.” (octubre de 1989).

Esta pieza de porcelana tiene forma de búcaro redondeado con tapa también en porcelana y base o peana de madera tallada y calada. Su ornamento, alegre, sereno y colorido, se basa en elementos naturalistas típicos de la iconografía china, como son ramas de diferentes árboles y pequeñas aves de plumas amarillas y pico rojo. Todo ello pintado a mano, con trazos finos y precisos.

La Dinastía Qing (1644-1912) fue la última dinastía imperial de China, gobernada por los manchúes, un grupo étnico que se originó en el noreste de China. Esta dinastía desempeñó un papel fundamental en la historia de China, marcando un periodo de gran expansión territorial, intercambios culturales y también desafíos internos y externos que llevaron finalmente al fin del sistema imperial. Por su parte, Tongzhi (1862-1875) fue el título de reinado del Emperador Tongzhi, el décimo emperador de la Dinastía Qing. Su reinado abarca un periodo breve pero significativo en la historia de China, marcado por intentos de modernización y la influencia política de su madre, la poderosa emperatriz viuda Cixi.

Extraordinary hand-painted ginger jar with lid in Chinese porcelain, made during the reign of the Emperor Tongzhi (1862-1875), of the Rose Family type. Rose Family is the name given in Europe to a certain type of Chinese porcelain, which from the 18th century included enamels of this colour in addition to the previous palette of greens, yellows, reds and blues. Today, porcelain pieces from the Rose Family are highly valued for their beauty and fine decoration. It has a certificate of authenticity issued by the Union Trading Co. of Hong Kong: “An investigation was carried out and it was discovered that they were made more than a hundred years ago.” (October 1989).

This porcelain piece is shaped like a rounded vase with a lid, also in porcelain, and a carved and openwork wooden base or pedestal. Its ornament, cheerful, serene and colorful, is based on naturalistic elements typical of Chinese iconography, such as branches of different trees and small birds with yellow feathers and red beaks. All of it is hand-painted, with fine and precise strokes.

The Qing Dynasty (1644-1912) was the last imperial dynasty of China, ruled by the Manchus, an ethnic group that originated in northeastern China.
