Deliciosa mesita auxiliar de madera y decoración en taracea y trampantojo de libros en el cajón inferior, siguiendo el estilo Napoleón III.

El sobre de la mesita presenta una excelente figura de taracea de motivos florales, bordeado por todos los márgenes menos por el frontal de un bajo borde. La pieza presenta una elegante estructura de líneas curvas y patas cabriolé, características del gusto historicista y ecléctico del estilo Napoleón III.

Cuenta con un cajón superior discreto y un pequeño compartimento inferior con puertas abatibles, lo que refuerza su valor funcional sin renunciar a la armonía formal. El frente de estas puertas abatibles está decorado con un trampantojo de gran ingenio visual: un panel simulando un estante de libros encuadernados en piel, un recurso decorativo muy apreciado por la burguesía del periodo, que buscaba conjugar funcionalidad y sofisticación estética en los interiores domésticos. Este efecto de faux livre le confiere un carácter tanto intelectual como lúdico, en línea con el mobiliario de gabinete propio del Segundo Imperio francés.

Delightful wooden side table with inlaid decoration and trompe l'oeil of books in the lower drawer, following the Napoleon III style.

The top of the side table presents an excellent inlaid figure with floral motifs, bordered on all edges except for the front of a low border. The piece has an elegant structure of curved lines and cabriole legs, characteristic of the historicist and eclectic taste of the Napoleon III style.

It has a discreet upper drawer and a small lower compartment with hinged doors, which reinforces its functional value without sacrificing formal harmony. The front of these hinged doors is decorated with a trompe l'oeil of great visual ingenuity: a panel simulating a leather-bound bookcase, a decorative device much appreciated by the bourgeoisie of the period, who sought to combine functionality and aesthetic sophistication in domestic interiors. This faux livre effect gives it both an intellectual and playful character, in line with the cabinet furniture of the French Second Empire.
